The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois is seeking one or more active investment managers to manage the following strategies: Developed Markets Ex-US, ACWI Ex-US, Emerging Markets, India-only, and EM Latin America-only. The strategies would manage a portion of the System’s approximately $32 billion public equity portfolio, which is benchmarked to the MSCI All Country World Investable Market Index.

Honored for their contributions were Board President Matthew Hunt, Trustee Maureen Mena, Trustee Maria "Mia" Jazo-Harris and Trustee Kader Sakkaria.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of former TRS Trustee Robert “Bob” Lyons earlier this month. A longtime high school social science teacher and department chair, Bob dedicated his career to serving students and supporting education in Illinois. He spent more than three decades shaping young minds and strengthening school communities.

Springfield, IL – The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) reported a notable increase in its funded status for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, marking the fifth consecutive year of improvement. The funded ratio, calculated using the actuarial value of assets, has risen to 47.8 percent, up from 45.8 percent the previous year. The update was presented at the October 23–24 meeting of the TRS Board of Trustees. 

The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Albert “Al” Llorens, President of the Illinois Education Association (IEA), who passed away at the age of 73.
